Centre of gravity (A level Physics)
From WikiTextbook
When modelling the mechanics of a body, it is easier to label its weight as a single point - the centre of gravity, than to try and label the effects of gravity on every part of that body.

Definition
In the Forces & Motion exam, the candidate may be asked to define centre of gravity. It can be defined as the point in a body that gravity is considered to act upon - in reality of course this not the case, but it is a simplification that works well so it is used by most physicists.
